The American Revolution was first stared when the 13 colonies, which today is known as USA, joined together and started to fight against the British Empire. The colonies wanted to get independence from the British Empire, and become the United States of America. The American Revolution was a result of series of social, political and intellectual transformations in early American society.
In 1775, Revolutionaries took control of each of the thirteen colonies, set up the Second Continental Congress, and formed a Continental Army. The following year, they decleared their independence as a new nation, the United States of America.
